Staff and students at Upton Court Grammar School celebrated academic achievement of students in years 7-10 on Tuesday 11 July. Certificates of commendation for each subject in the school curriculum were awarded, as well as excellence awards for literacy, essays and for outstanding contribution to the life of the school.
Heads of department were invited to nominate one student per year group who had shown the greatest aptitude for their subject and had consistently demonstrated excellence throughout the year.
The school also selected three students to receive the prestigious Principal’s Excellence Award. This is awarded to students that selflessly contributed to school life, raising money for charity, supporting events to the fullest, as well as being an excellent role model to all. Recipients of this award were Juhi Mistry (age 12), Babita Panesar (age 14) and Nidhi Hariharan (age 15).
The ceremony was presided by guest speaker, Professor Amir Sharif, Director of Operations and Supply Chain Systems at Brunel University, who delivered an inspirational speech about his successes and achievements.
Upton Court Grammar School Principal Mercedes Hernandez Estrada said “Our students were celebrated for their academic achievements but also for their creativity and sense of community. Their successes would not have been possible without the support of our outstanding staff.”
