National Citizenship Service has received 64 applications for the summer programme, a great start and only 18 behind our total summer sign ups last year!
Last Saturday, a group of 39 of our local grads including 3 from Upton Court (Umayr Khan, Sulaiman Butt and Yin Shing Matthew) joined forces with local homeless charities in Slough to raise awareness of homelessness in the area!
The NCS Big Sleep Out took place as part of a national action day where NCS grads from across the country take part in social action projects that benefit the community. Local graduates slept out overnight at Burnham Football Club to raise awareness of the issue of homelessness.
The event was designed and organised by young people from schools across Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire, and raised over £400 for chosen charities Launchpad, Reading, and Slough Homelessness Our Concern!
