The uptake of Spanish at Key Stage 4 is incredibly high; it is a hugely popular option for GCSE. The students achieve high grades through the support provided by their teachers and by the Foreign Language Assistant who provides extra classes outside of curriculum time as well as supporting students in lessons. This is an exciting time for MFL, as exam requirements are changing and we believe this will better equip our learners with more genuine language skills. The students follow the AQA GCSE which promotes oral and written communication, as well as listening and reading. Students also learn about the customs and traditions of Spain and other Spanish speaking countries, as well as learning about how to communicate in both leisure and vocational contexts. High standards are set by the Spanish department who pride themselves on providing quality, personalised education for their students.
