KS5 – Mathematics

We follow the Edexcel A level Mathematics and Further Mathematics syllabus at A-level. There are 3 modules per A-Level and no coursework. Single mathematicians usually take a course in Pure Mathematics, Statistics and Mechanics. Students are taught in mixed abilities throughout the entire two year course. Students are entered for exams in May/June at the end of year 13. All teachers are happy to help any student who asks for help outside lesson time.

Further mathematicians follow a varied and interesting diet of  Core Pure, Further Mechanics and Decision modules which allows them the flexibility to choose any degree course they wish to study. They can count A level and Further Mathematics as two of their A-level choices. We are very proud to send students on to mathematics degrees each year.
