Cycling
To alleviate congestion around the school during peak hours, we encourage the use of healthy and environmentally friendly modes of transportation such as walking and cycling. We have cycle sheds available on the school premises to facilitate this.
Cycling is a healthy and affordable option but it also promotes a sense of freedom and independence among young individuals. To ensure the safety of our students, we have implemented a School Bicycle Policy. Parents are requested to make their children aware of this policy and the importance of adhering to safety guidelines.
Current Students: If your child wishes to bring a bicycle to school, please complete and submit the Microsoft Form provided in the Cycling Guidance. This form is mandatory for bringing bicycles to and from school.
Cycling Microsoft Form and Guidance
Prospective Year 7 Students: If you are currently in Year 6 and are a prospective Year 7 student due to start in September, you must read the Cycling Guidance and sign the Permission & Users Contract included within the admissions form (Applicaa). You do not need to complete the above Microsoft Form.
We appreciate your cooperation in making our school environment safer and more sustainable. Together, we can contribute to a positive experience for students, parents, and local residents.
Car Share
Upton Court Grammar School acts as an intermediary by publishing the details of families who are interested in the car share scheme. Other interested families are then able to access this database of information.
If you would like your details to be included in the database please complete the car share information consent from this link:
Car Share Information Consent Form
Your details will be held on the database until we are advised that you wish for them to be removed.
Car sharing is an arrangement between individual parents who must be prepared to enter into a reciprocal agreement. It is each parent’s responsibility to check that those providing car-shares have suitable insurance cover in place and that, where appropriate, child seats are available. Upton Court Grammar School takes no responsibility for the scheme’s operation.
Train
The school is approximately a 20-minute walk from Slough station which is on the Elizabeth Line and Paddington-Reading line serving Ealing, Southall and Hayes to the east and Slough, Burnham and Maidenhead to the west.
Public Service Buses
There are several public service bus routes which stop within walking distance of the school.
A map showing the bus routes across Slough can be accessed from HERE
Private Coach and Minibus services
Some private coach and minibus companies operate services to the school from different areas.
Please note that private companies provide all the coach services and therefore Upton Court Grammar School does not accept responsibility for these services. Arrangements are directly between parents and the individual company to whom any queries should be addressed.
